The benefits of hypnosis have been known for decades. As far back as 1958, the American Medical Association certified hypnosis as a legitimate treatment tool. The National Institutes of Health in America also recognised hypnosis as an effective intervention in 1996. However, despite its effectiveness, scientists could not explain how hypnosis generated its beneficial results. Then again, they could not explain the obvious benefits of sleep, either. Today, all that is rapidly changing. In universities and hospitals around the world, hypnosis is the subject of active research and widely increased application. Hypnosis is fast becoming mainstream in medical and behavioral arenas.
FAQ's about Hypnosis
'What is hypnosis or trance?'
Hypnosis is just focused thinking. Some people experience hypnosis as being in that very comfortable relaxed state you have experienced just before you become fully awake from sleeping - not quite awake and not quite asleep.
'Will I lose control?'
Hypnosis will enable you to enter into a deep state of relaxtion and comfort in which you will become even more aware of your surroundings and what you are doing. Control stays with you totally.
'What if I don't wake up?'
This is easy. You're not asleep, just relaxed and focused. No waving watches. No looking into my eyes.

A. Doyle (Dublin )
“My confidence when dealing with people has improved drastically...I can now talk freely with people and no longer dread going meeting new people”
P. Coffey (Meath)
“My teenage daughter was having a lot of problems at school and at home. After 3 sessions the difference in her was astounding. . She now believes in herself and is so much happier.” L. Boland (Dublin )
“It’s been three months and my weight has reduced by just over a stone! I look and feel great. I finally like myself” H. Pierce
I suffered with a very bad case of Arachnophobia (a fear of spiders) for as long as I could remember when a friend of mine recommended that I visit Susan. At first I was a bit sceptical but Susan was very understanding and attentive when I was telling her about my problem.
When Susan and I first met she sat me down and explained what the hypnosis process would involve. She told me about all the different stages we would be covering and assured me that if I felt uncomfortable at any stage we could stop immediately. This put any reservations that I may have had out of my head and also served to relax me a great deal.
After one session with Susan not only was my fear of spiders all but gone but I also realised that Hypnotherapy is a very effective way of seeking out the roots of problems and dealing with them in a positive way.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Susan to anyone. I for one will always be very grateful to her. Brian C.
